Description: Drawing lines and circles sound like a piece of cake. Anyone can draw lines and circles, the question is how accurately can we draw? The technique of lines and circles is used in almost all types of drawing. In this exercise, we will focus on using lines and circles for perspective drawing. This will be your starting point for learning to draw.
Materials: Pencils, Paper, Ruler, Eraser.
Activity for Exercise 1:
Step 1. Ask students to draw as many circles and lines on a piece of paper without using a ruler or an eraser.
Step 2. Show students how to draw VP vanishing point and HL horizon line.
Step 3. Draw a vertical line.
Step 4. How to connect VP and Vertical line.
Step 5. Help students select a middle reference point.
Step 6. Show how to draw accurate circles in perspective.
Activity for Exercise 2:
Using VP and HL, students will draw a house.
Creative questions for discussion:
1- Why are lines and circles important in drawing?.
2- What is perspective view?
